to suffer from sharp pain over the splenic reo-fon accompanied by fever, the sharp pains pa?ssed off and were succeeded by a dull'heavy aching pain. For the last twenty days he had experienced rigors, followed by profuse perspiration, with constant fever, the temperature ranging between 99 and 100 in the morning, between 102 and 103-4 in tlie afternoon. At the same time the swelling of the speen increased, till it reached its present size, about that of the foetal head.
